They operate 10 programs, which include: Forests for Calgary; Calgary Tree Equity; Community Climate Conversations; Climate Justice; Art of Protest; Shovels in The Ground; EcoElders; The Climate Lense Podcast; Climate Bookclub, and; Municipal Advocacy Campaigns.
Calgary Climate Hub’s recent work includes the development of a Climate Justice program with post-secondary social work departments supporting mutual aid and municipal policy actions, their Joint Statement on the Canada–Alberta MOU (Dec 1, 2025), coalition work to reform the Alberta Energy Regulator to address the issue of orphaned and abandoned oil wells in Alberta, community mobilization events like zine-making for climate justice, the G7 “Pick a Path: Pipelines or Climate Action?” action (June 18, 2025), hosting a variety of public rallies and actions, the planting of their 5th Miyawaki Tiny Forest site, the launch of a new Nature Based Solutions program (Shovels in the Ground), and more!
Their ongoing advocacy campaigns include Calgary Headwaters Protection & Restoration (watershed/Eastern Slopes protection), Municipal Tree Equity, and Housing Affordability & Climate Resiliency (“Beat the Heat”) calling for a 26°C maximum indoor temperature standard in rental units.
