Burnaby Climate Hub

The Burnaby Climate Hub’s mission is to ensure Burnaby's national participation in the climate conversation and highlight positive climate solutions happening locally.
Its vision is for Burnaby to lead by example through supporting a climate emergency response and driving a transition to clean energy and a low-carbon economy to reach full carbon neutrality by 2050.

ABOUT

Burnaby Climate Hub’s recent campaigns include joining the National Climate League to encourage residents to message councillors about submitting key climate data.

Plus, community engagement like a “24 Hours of Reality” watch party and sharing local “good news” at the the Willingdon Linear Park opening (all 2018).

The hub frames its work around citizen engagement to build public support for municipal climate leadership and help unite civil society, business, government, and residents around climate solutions.

Calls to action: get involved by emailing burnaby@climatehub.ca (and participating in local civic actions like contacting councillors when hub campaigns are active).

The Climate Reality Project Canada’s office is located on land which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous peoples, including the Haudenosaunee and Anishinabeg Nations. Our organization honours, recognizes and respects these Nations as the traditional stewards of the lands and waters on which we are today.
