After you complete the workshop, access the resource package to become a facilitator and help more people become Climate Disinformation Detectives! As you know, the fight against climate change is not just a battle against rising temperatures and extreme weather events. It's also a battle against a well-funded, multi-pronged disinformation machine that sows doubt, delays action, protects the interests of the fossil fuel industry and undermines our democracy.

This workshop aims to pull back the curtain on these tactics, empowering you to become effective advocates for climate truth. In this workshop, we'll explore:

• The History of Climate Disinformation: Tracing the roots of these campaigns and their parallels with past disinformation efforts, such as those used by the tobacco industry: using willing disinformation ‘scientists’, creating front groups, think tanks, astroturf groups, influencers, school programs and corporate media to amplify the continued use of fossil fuels, including at the political level.

• Becoming detectives to find the links between the delay statements and the groups that support and amplify those messages

• Effective solutions for cutting through the disinformation, from pushing for climate literacy education, banning fossil fuel advertising and regulating media, to moving climate action to the forefront of the political agenda.
