ALBERTA

Biosphere Institute of the Bow Valley

  • Harnessing the Power of Food Workshop #2: Flavours of Home

    The upcoming “Flavours of Home: Plant-Based Comfort Foods on a Budget” workshop at The Co+Kitchen explores international flavors through hands-on, budget-friendly, plant-based cooking. On November 13, experience sustainable, planet-friendly meals like upside-down tacos, mushroom donair, and chipotle cream sauce with seed crackers.

    In partnership with Green Calgary, this Shovels in the Ground workshop invites community members to learn how to turn nature-based solutions into action! Hear from three local experts as they share insights on collective food security, rain gardens, and green infrastructure, and get inspired to launch your own community Nature-Based Solutions project.

Nanaimo Climate Action Hub

    The Nanaimo Climate Action Hub is seeking enthusiastic activists, organizers, and communicators to help expand climate action efforts in Nanaimo. In this café, participants will take part in an exercise inspired by Dr. Ayana Elizabeth Johnson’s work to identify their role in driving local climate action.
