Short Biography

Daphné graduated from HEC Montréal last winter and obtained her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a specialization in marketing and sustainability. She has always been passionate about sustainability and climate change, but her passion for this field truly blossomed when she traveled to Africa one summer and noticed firsthand the consequences of climate change on our biodiversity and our precious animals. Although she is new to this field, she is really excited to learn more about it and start taking concrete actions for our climate.

Why did you join the climate movement/what pushed you to become interested in climate change issues?

I decided to join the climate movement simply because climate change is the biggest and most pressing issue we will ever have to face. It affects our lives in a variety of ways, and I couldn't imagine doing anything else for a living than trying to protect our planet for future generations!

What is one achievement you are proud of?

Three years ago I became fully vegetarian, after taking a class on plant-based diets, even though my family and I had always been pretty big meat eaters. I am proud to have pushed my family to significantly reduce their meat consumption and fully cut out red meat. I have also convinced two of my friends to go vegetarian. It is nice to know that by simply talking about what you're passionate about, you can make a change!

What are some climate change initiatives you are currently taking part in?

Being a bit new to the field of sustainability, I am now starting to look for initiatives that match my values, which is why I decided to apply for this internship to learn more about the field and to learn more about which initiatives are worth becoming involved with!

What do you think is the most effective way for people to take climate action?

To be informed!!! To learn about climate change in order to be able to realize the severity of the situation and therefore act on it!

What is a fun fact about yourself?

It may not look like it from my picture, but I am not even five feet !
