MONTREAL, July 14th, 2021

- The Climate Reality Project Canada is excited to announce the launch of its very first Campus Climate Action Summit this summer.

As university students represent a key demographic at the forefront of climate activism,  this Summit is bringing together a fellowship of 29 post-secondary students from across Canada to explore concrete and innovative solutions to combat the urgent climate crisis and mobilize their own campus for effective climate action. Taking place virtually every Wednesday evenings from

July 14th to August 25th, 2021, this skill building event offers a great opportunity for students to meet engaged people, hear directly from a host of experienced sustainability advocates and learn about climate engagement through hands-on workshops.

The Summit will cover everything they need to know to be a fervent climate activist, addressing topics such as divestment, climate justice, community engagement, story-telling, climate finance, and more!

By the end of the 7 weeks, participants will feel ready and motivated to begin their climate activism on their campuses, leading their post-secondary institutions to adopting more climate and sustainability focused policies.

About The Climate Reality Project Canada

The Climate Reality Project Canada is the Canadian branch of the Climate Reality Project, founded in 2006 by former Vice President of the United States and Nobel Laureate Al Gore. Its mission is to catalyze a global solution to the climate crisis by making urgent action a necessity across all levels of society. It does so by training a vast and international network of Climate Reality Leaders to become effective communicators on the science and solutions to climate change.

There are 33,792 Climate Reality Leaders worldwide, of which 1,457 are in Canada. Their mission is to spread awareness amongst their peers and to advance solutions to the climate crisis. The Climate Reality Canada is also the founder of the Community Climate Hubs initiative, which aims to decarbonise cities across the country.
