David is a Professional Engineer with extensive experience planning and managing the development of computer-based communication systems. He is an engaging presenter and has worked with a cross section of private and public sector clients in North America and overseas. His academic background includes degrees in systems design and electrical engineering. He is a long-term member of the David Suzuki Foundation.

Having studied the climate change peril, David had been in a space of “doom and gloom” about the future prospects for our species. He became inspired after reading Al Gore’s most recent book Our Choice and attending a training session by Mr. Gore in June 2010. There are a number of initiatives our society could readily undertake that make sense in their own right and would contribute to a more sustainable world.

Prior volunteer activities include 5-year Board member and President of the Ottawa Tennis and Lawn Bowling Club, the largest tennis facility in Canada with 18 clay courts. David also demonstrated a huge commitment to junior development by bringing the Tennis Canada U14 Outdoor Nationals to Ottawa for three years (2002-2004), acting as Tournament Chair.

David is married with two children.
